WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?
Gold filled is made from a thick layer of 14k gold that is bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal, usually brass. This bond is much stronger than traditional gold plating and does not easily rub off or tarnish. If your piece is made entirely from gold filled components, it is water safe! If your piece has stones, pearls, or any gold plated components, please remove before showering. It is also recommended to remove jewelry before swimming in a pool or hot tub.
