WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?
Gold filled is made from a thick layer of 14k gold that is bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal, usually jewelers brass. This bond is much stronger than traditional gold plating, does not easily rub off, and is tarnish resistant. Please be sure to read our section on how to care for your gold filled jewelry. If your piece has stones, pearls, or any gold plated components, please remove before showering. It is also recommended to remove any jewelry before swimming in a pool or hot tub.
