WHAT IS GOLD FILLED?

Gold filled is made from a thick layer of 14k gold that is bonded with heat and pressure to a base metal, usually jewelers brass. This bond is much thicker than traditional gold plating, does not easily rub off, and is tarnish resistant. If your piece is made entirely from gold filled components, it is water resistant! If your piece has stones, pearls, or any gold plated components, please remove before showering.
